JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT MIAMI ADDS NEW BOARD MEMBERS FROM TECH + BIZ INDUSTRIES
Miami, FL – Junior Achievement of Greater Miami (JA Miami) has voted to add six new board members, coming from Miami’s cutting-edge tech, finance, and business sectors.
They will be joining 38 other board members to steer an organization that delivers free, “learn by doing” lessons in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness to Miami’s public school students.
The new members are:
- Ivan Soto-Wright, MoonPay. Fintech entrepreneur, investor, and advocate for a global financial technology company revolutionizing access to the digital economy. We’re proud to welcome entrepreneur Ivan back to Junior Achievement Miami—not only as the founder of MoonPay and a global fintech leader, but as a shining example of what JA can make possible. Ivan is a JA alumnus whose entrepreneurial journey began in high school, inspired by the lessons he learned about business, money, and leadership through Junior Achievement. He attributes much of his success to the principles instilled in him during that time and remains actively engaged with JA Miami, eager to give back to the organization that helped shape his path. Ivan’s story is a powerful reminder of JA’s impact: it can change their path, change their life. We’re excited to see where his guidance and expertise will take us next.
- Chris Rush, Royal Caribbean Group. Rush is currently VP, Chief Audit & Risk Officer, Royal Caribbean Group, where he leads a team of professionals who assess enterprise risks, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and perform advisory services to optimize business operations. Previously, he was responsible for the global consolidation process and internal reporting at PepsiCo.
- Stephany Musino, Wells Fargo. Musino is the Executive Director, Relationship Manager – Middle Market at Wells Fargo. At Junior Achievement, she helped found and led Tampa’s Young Professionals Network, before moving back to Miami, where she recently served as a mentor in our inaugural JA Rising Women event this past spring.
- Ignacio Borbolla, Delta Air Lines. Borbolla is the South Florida Head of Sales, Market Development, and Community Partnerships at Delta. He was a longstanding member of Junior Achievement Miami’s Young Professionals Network, including serving as the Marketing Committee Chair, and Chair of the 2024 JA Stock Market Challenge, before joining the Board. Through his efforts, Delta has become a generous sponsor of many JA programs.
- Alex Wilson, Shift4 Payments. Wilson is the founder of The Giving Block, recently acquired by Shift4. Like many of JA Miami’s students, Wilson has been an entrepreneur since high school, with a number of successful startups to his name. His most recent, The Giving Block, helps nonprofits accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrency donations. He is also an advisor and offers student scholarships to the Wake Forest Business School.
- Eduardo Mora, Lazard Asset Management. Mora runs North American Offshore Wealth at Lazard, and was previously head of Offshore Wealth for Blackrock. He previously served as a guest of the Junior Achievement Miami’s Investment Committee for the past two years, and continues to serve on it.
“We’re thrilled to be building JA Miami’s board with such dedicated, motivated individuals,” said Troy Templeton, Chair of the Board, and Chairman Emeritus of Trivest Partners. “Working with such industry leaders is a testament to the fantastic work that JA Miami does every day in partnership with the Miami-Dade school system, and the incredible talent that we have access to in Miami’s business community.”
“At Junior Achievement Miami, we don’t just invite board members—we curate them. Each individual is thoughtfully selected for their unique ability to elevate our mission and drive impact. We believe that a nonprofit can only achieve excellence when backed by a thriving, engaged, and strategic board,” said Lourdes de la Mata Little, President and CEO of JA Miami.
“Our proximity to the business community and focus on entrepreneurs is a big part of why this program works so well for our students, and how we’re helping to break the cycle of poverty in Miami. Change their path, change their life.”
About Junior Achievement of Greater Miami
At JA Miami, we believe that every child can be inspired and empowered to succeed financially. Our graduates are confident, practical, knowledgeable, and most importantly, prepared.
How? We know that we can change their path, and change their life, by teaching kids about money: how to earn it, save it, spend it, and share it. We provide “learn by doing”, in-school learning experiences in underserved Miami public schools, taught by community volunteers, in everything from budgeting and loans to career readiness and entrepreneurship. Free to students, delivered by us, and funded by partners and donors. We have been awarded Five Star Status by JA USA for exceptional performance, as well as the Miami Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 NOVO Award, and our global office has been nominated for the last three Nobel Peace Prizes.
