Young Professionals Network

The Junior Achievement Young Professionals (JAYP) are committed to advancing JA’s mission among Miami’s early- and mid-career professionals, their employers, and employees. The JAYP network, founded in 2014, represents the future of corporate leadership in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. We promote programming, events, and volunteer opportunities for their professional networks to get involved with and support JA’s community offerings.

Purpose and Values:
Junior Achievement Miami believes in having a positive impact on the lives of as many students as possible. We work with our boards and supporters to provide free financial literacy education to our local public schools, and we teach kids about money: how to earn it, save it, spend it, and share it.

Mission: To empower young people to succeed in the global economy.

JAYP COMMITTEES
JAYP has 8 active committees with varying goals and responsibilities. All committees will focus on the Stock Market Challenge during the first part of the school year. These committees gather separately throughout the year, providing status updates and calls to action at the regular JAYP meetings.

Stock Market Challenge Committee: The Stock Market Challenge Committee (SMC) will represent and lead JA Miami’s flagship event. This committee will raise the existing platform to include increased volunteers (throughout high schools in Miami-Dade County) so that more students can access the stock trading program. They will also aim to increase the number of fundraising contributions and in-kind donations from our community to support the increase in student participation. The SMC Chairs will benefit from the support of all JA YP Board Chairs and Members so that all board committee members are working together to execute on the goals and objectives for the calendar year.

Volunteer Committee: This committee aims to increase volunteer participation, recruit new volunteers, and engage YP members in volunteer efforts.

Fundraising Committee: This committee develops ideas and goals to generate new fundraising activity for JA, including introducing new companies to JA, promoting sponsorship opportunities for the Stock Market Challenge, and securing in-kind donations.

Social Events Committee: This committee generates awareness for JA, ideally increasing JA’s membership base, through social events and networking. The Social Events Committee helps plan and facilitate social/networking events.

Marketing & PR Committee: The Marketing & PR Committee is responsible for crafting and managing JA YP’s public image and communications strategy. They oversee the creation of marketing materials, social media, and ensuring consistent messaging. This committee also works to engage the community through various outreach efforts, enhancing the nonprofit's visibility and impact.

New Programs & Initiatives Committee: The New Programs and Initiatives Committee will support the rollout and expansion of new JA programs and initiatives throughout the year. These may include JA Finance Park, JA Company Program, JA Take Stock in Your Future, and the JA Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF). This committee will aim to implement and expand these programs throughout Miami.

New Member Committee: The New Member Committee is responsible for identifying and recruiting new members who can contribute to Junior Achievement’s mission. They ensure a diverse and skilled group, facilitate robust volunteering, fundraising, and engagement. Additionally, this committee often handles orientation and integration of new members to promote effective engagement and contribution to the board's work.

Accountability Committee: The Accountability Committee ensures that the members are adhering to their member commitments and to legal and ethical standards, providing oversight and transparency. They are responsible for monitoring the compliance of the group. This committee also facilitates the board's annual review of results and statistics, and makes recommendations on policies and procedures.
