STATE FARM® SUPPORTS JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF GREATER MIAMI

News Release

February 13, 2020

Miami, FL – Like a good neighbor, State Farm recently donated $5,000 to Junior Achievement of Greater Miami, Inc. This contribution is part of a $60,000 grant provided to all Junior Achievement offices in Florida, demonstrating State Farm’s commitment to supporting the Florida community with programs that teach children about financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.

Thanks to this investment, local high school students from Coral Gables Senior High who participated in Junior Achievement programs this year will share their knowledge of personal finance and entrepreneurship with elementary students at W.J. Bryan Elementary School, to help them understand the basic concepts of business and economics.

“Year after year, this successful partnership with State Farm has allowed Junior Achievement to make a greater impact on underserved children in our community,” reported Catherine Haga, President of Junior Achievement of Greater Miami, Inc.

In the 2019-2020 school year, Junior Achievement (JA) programs will reach more than 34,000 Miami-Dade students in grades K-12. Using age-appropriate curricula designed to teach elementary students about their roles as individuals, workers, and consumers, the program prepares middle-grade and high school students for key economic and workforce issues they will face in the future.
