Miami, FL – Junior Achievement of Greater Miami will hold their inaugural JA WOMEN RISING event this week, in partnership with Costex. It will be held on May 22, 2025, at Costex Miami in Doral.

This event will bring middle- and high school students from Lawton Chiles Middle School and Hialeah Gardens Senior High, together with influential women from financial institutions and in financial roles in a number of industries.

The event will combine JA Miami’s signature financial literacy education with themes of empowerment and support. The programming will include talks and keynotes from Melissa Uribe Gil, Executive Vice President, Costex Tractor Parts; Felicia Shtivelman, founder and Chief Impact Officer, Capabee; and Lourdes de la Mata Little, President and CEO of JA Miami. The presenting sponsors are Costex, the Jorge Lopez Family Charitable Foundation, and Amazon.

JA Miami is uniquely positioned to bring this group together, with access to Miami’s best and brightest students and mentors, as well as deep experience in hands-on interactive learning. The day’s program was built to maximize these strengths.

“We saw that there was a great need among ambitious female students for niche programming that would help support them in confidence-building, understanding career pathways, and building a personal budget,” said Little. “We built this event to provide our local girls with support and tools that they need to succeed, and to start to make the connections that they’ll need in their future. I hope that our programming will help them dream big, and that this will become a recurring annual event for us.”
