Future Bound Miami - Kindergarten Volunteer Opportunity

Junior Achievement has partnered with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and a group of local nonprofits to provide kindergarten students enrolled at 30 schools within the City of Miami with financial literacy lessons that focus on the importance of saving.

Every kindergarten student enrolled in the 30 participating schools will receive the Junior Achievement kindergarten program (JA Ourselves) - that's where you come in. Each class will need at least one volunteer to teach students about needs and wants, earning, and saving.

These students really need your help... 88% of the kindergarten students attending the participating schools currently live at or below poverty level. As an in-class volunteer, you can help guide them on the path to a brighter financial future...

Follow these simple steps to become involved with Future Bound Miami as a Junior Achievement volunteer:

  1. Select a school and let us know you'd like to volunteer by filling out this online form.
  2. Junior Achievement will connect you with a Kindergarten teacher at the school you select and send you all necessary teaching materials. If needed, you'll also receive a short training on Junior Achievement programs.
  3. Schedule your volunteer time (approximately 4 hours per class) with the teacher. Plan to complete your volunteer session after students have returned from winter break and BEFORE FEBRUARY 28, 2020. Students return to school on January 6, 2020.
  4. Change lives!

Success starts with savings. Future Bound Miami is dedicated to giving children an opportunity to have their own Children’s Savings Account (CSA), so they can start saving early. During the 2019-2020 school year, Future Bound Miami is open to kindergarten students attending 30 elementary schools that feed into the five high schools within the City of Miami. Over the next five years, our goal is to reach all kindergarten students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Visit for more information.
